MPwH stands for “Meet People with Herpes”, a site where people can meet other sufferers of sexually transmitted diseases for fun, love and companionship. MPwH remains one of the most popular sites we have reviewed in this category, mainly because it has a track record of bringing together like-minded people, all over the world, for long-lasting relationships built on common experience.

With more than 80,000 members, MPwH is a diverse bunch with members coming from all age groups, races, social backgrounds and more. MPwH proudly boasts that, just as STD's don't discriminate, neither does MPwH, and this is reflected in the site's wide and diverse membership.

MPwH describes itself as a ‘warm-hearted and exclusive community’ and we have to agree – this site is a great place to meet people, learn about HSV and HPV and build lasting relationships. Read on to find out more about MPwH…

Creating your own personal profile on MPwH is quick and straightforward and allows users to include as much or as little personal information as they wish. Users begin by completing some simple sections on personal information and what they are looking for, along with slightly more extended “essay” sections about their personality and that of the person they are looking for. Don’t let “essay” put you off however – users are encouraged to write as much or as little as they wish!

There’s also a profile questionnaire covering areas such as health, education, lifestyle, occupation, location and more, all of which helps to add a little more color to your profile. As is common at the more advanced sites in this category, users can opt for profile verification, which helps other users feel comfortable that the person they are chatting with are genuine.

Users can search through the profiles on the site by using the excellent MPwH search tools that allows users to return search results based on a wide number of criteria (as discussed more fully above). Once you have found a user that you would like to get to know a little better, getting in touch with them is easy. Users can send “winks” to help break the ice a little and let another member know that they are interested, or jump straight in and send them a message using the site’s anonymous mailbox feature.

Our one quibble with MPwH is that the site doesn’t offer users much when it comes to features that are specifically aimed at STD-daters. Other sites we have reviewed this category have offered things such as STD infobanks, STD Q&As, access to medical advice and support counselors.

MPwH limits its similar features to just a blog and forum, so it’s not quite at the same level as other sites we have reviewed (especially considering it is priced at the same rate as PositiveSingles and Positives Dating – 50 cents to $1 per day, depending on the package chosen).

We enjoyed reviewing MPwH and can see why it is a popular site for many users. The site is going through some changes at the moment and it is hoped that new features will shortly be added which bring it more into line with other sites we have reviewed in this category that achieved higher ratings.
